We would like to introduce Jackie, our Advanced Nurse Prescriber. Her role is to see some urgent on the day patients presenting with a range of illnesses after triaging by the doctors. She will also make home visits where needed for patients unable to attend the surgery for urgent requests when appropriate.
The role is different to, but will compliment our fantastic team of practice nurses; she will be doing falls assessments and physical health checks for patients in the surgery as well as making some home visits for those who are housebound.
This is a new role in the surgery and will evolve over time; Jackie however, is a very experienced nurse who has had extra training to undertake assessment and treatment of a range of illnesses.
For more information on this service please contact the surgery and speak to one of the receptionists.
Our nurses carry out the child immunisation programme and are involved in the management of chronic diseases such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension. They also run minor illness sessions with 4 to 6 appointments daily together with family planning services and cervical cytology screening.
The nurses offer child and adult vaccinations as well as travel advice.
